Casa Coffee Corners

Say goodbye to the coffee pots and hello to the coffee machines! From now on you can enjoy a new coffee experience for meeting guests. The last few months we have been working on the development of the Casa Coffee Corner-concept. With the principles Quality, Ease and Sustainability two new coffee corners are created with three coffee machines. The new WMF Bistro gives you effortless top shelf freshly brewed coffee. Next to that the coffee is UTZ-certified, a worldwide certification standard for professional, social and environmental friendly production. We’re looking forward to drink the first cup of coffee with you!
One Year After the Opening 
The preparations took years, then finally on 23 April 2010 Hotel Casa 400 opened its doors and before you know it one year already passed.
After we opened the hotel in phases we enjoyed a really good summer. In August we reached a room occupancy of 94% and from September onwards we also achieved a great occupancy of our 13 conference rooms. Also between Christmas and New Year we welcomed many guests.
With a great and motivated team we created a fantastic statement and positioned Hotel Casa 400 well within the market. In November we won the “Hotel Concept of The Year” award and on 8 December 2010 we obtained the Golden Green Key. In april 2011 we reached the last top 3 of “The Management Team of The Year” awards. And in June we have won the HotAm Award for most exciting hotel development in Amsterdam.
I would like to thank you, our readers, for all your support and enthusiastic interaction. We are taking the next steps to take our unique concept to the next level and hope to welcome you and your guests many times at Hotel Casa 400!
Our sous-chef Kees van Marle candidate at Top chef 2011! 
The knives are sharpened as the temperature increases: a new chef series on February 28, 2011 has started! The next twelve weeks you will see an elimination race for the coveted title of top chef 2011. Moreover chef Robert Kranenborg and Julius Jaspers raised the level even higher this time because the candidates already have the necessary knowledge and skills in the kitchen. Which candidates will surprise the jury with delicious dishes?

Nachtrestaurant 5 March at Casa 400!
Usable food is valuable and does not belong in the waste bin. Because of this, Hotel Casa 400 will be turned into a "Night Restaurant", organized by 7 Days of Inspiration at the 5th of March 2011. Different restaurants in Amsterdam have been asked to store their leftovers on this day. The chefs of the restaurants can take their own leftovers to the "Night Restaurant" and make the most delicious snacks with it! With this project the organization wants to inspire people to handle food in a different way. This evening is therefore entirely inspired by creative snacks, cosiness and lectures about the theme.

Casa 400 obtains Golden Green Key!
8 December 2010 - Being green is a trend, sustainability is the magic word. Also Casa 400 did make serious work of thinking sustainable and especially: acting sustainable! Wednesday the 8th of December, the organization of Green Key awarded the GOLDEN GREEN KEY certificate to Casa 400. The hotel went from nothing to the highest Green Key status.
Three years ago, when the construction of Hotel Casa 400 started, the aim was immediately set high: “We are going for gold”. Project leader Tim Noordegraaf tells: “We have created a comprehensive ‘green’ manual for the hotel as a whole, but also for colleagues to support their daily tasks”. Hotel Casa 400 is using green energy and energy efficient equipment. The warming and cooling system stores both warm as cooled air for reuse. The keycard system, which gives access to the rooms, avoids unnecessary use of light when guests are not in their room. The hotel also selects external parties and suppliers with sustainability in mind. All these efforts resulted in obtaining the GOLDEN GREEN KEY certificate!
The Green Key is an international eco-label for businesses in the tourism and recreation industry and in the market for meeting and conferences venues, which have a big focus on sustainability. There are 3 levels: bronze, silver and gold.
Hotel concept of the year
29 November 2010 - The recently opened Hotel Casa 400 was awarded the Hotel Concept of the Year Award during the Venuez Hospitality & Style Awards.
The hotel was awarded due to its innovative design, the focus on social responsibility & sustainability and the revolutionary use of social media within the hotel industry.
“A remarkable hotel concept which contributes to the community due to its huge focus on social responsibility & sustainability. An excellent example of social design”.
